Joined Daizen in 2014
Kazunari Furuya moved to Canada after working as a carpenter and log builder in Japan for 14 years, where he gained knowledge and expertise in the Japanese style of construction. Kazu also worked to achieve a degree in architecture and is a licensed architect in Japan. His skills as a builder and knowledge as an architect provide a unique advantage on projects.
Kazu moved to Canada to learn about the difference between Japanese home building and construction and development processes in North America.
At Daizen, Kazu is responsible for fine joinery work once timbers have been machine cut.
Why Daizen?
"I had heard of Dai and his good reputation in Japan and I wanted to work with him."
At Daizen, we ensure client expectations and understanding of processes are met through all phases of our work, from structural design and engineering to fabrication of timber frames and assembly and installation.
